About the artist:![]() I was born in London in 1968 and went on to attend Sherborne School, Dorset with an art scholarship. In 1986 I gained a place at the Slade School of Fine Art, London. Since graduating in 1990 I have worked full time as a fine artist, with my work appearing in numerous exhibitions around the country and in various private and corporate collections. Since 1995 I have worked with the top Michelin starred chefs in the U.K, creating a range of ingredient and wine paintings and handmade limited edition prints. In 1998 this collaboration with the chefs led to the publication of 'The Star Chefs Cookbook', incorporating my paintings and their famous signature dishes. In 2000 I embarked on a new creative direction with a commission from Jersey Pottery to create a range of handmade earthenware ovals with a seafood theme. The products have gradually expanded with a complementary range of porcelain plates, tablemats, aprons, boards and greeting cards. The collection has gone truly international having created the North American Trout range of ceramics in 2008, and I am currently working on an American Saltwater range. My creative style has become a globally recognised ‘signature’ which continues to attract commissions and interest. Consequently my work is becoming accessible to a wider audience who appreciate my landscapes, chef collaborations, wildlife and culinary themes. At present I split my time between London, Dorset and the Outer Hebrides, Scotland, as well as undertaking commissions in the U.K. and world wide.
About my work:![]() My work as an artist ranges from the figurative to the abstract. Depending upon the subject matter I use a whole range of mediums (oils, oil pastels, watercolours, acrylics, charcoal and chalk) for my paintings and drawings. My prints are created using various printing techniques (silkscreen, etching, lithography and giclee/digital), all with lightfast inks on acid free paper in small editions, signed and numbered. All my ceramics are in hardwearing porcelain, with the images silkscreen on using 18 or more colours, achieving vibrant colour (most ceramics only use 4), all are dishwasher, oven and microwave proof. If you have questions about any of the work displayed or wish to arrange a studio visit in Sherborne, Dorset (for more details see the Borough Market/Studio/Shows page), please email me or call 01935 815236. |
